We’re in!!

03.02.09 — We are moved in — well not really, but we are moved out of the rental anyway ;)

However, I have no clue where the camera is, but as so as I find it, I will post some pics…

Project 4820 is done :)

Moving on up…

02.27.09 – We officially have a Certificate of Occupancy!!  While there are still some things we lack – touch up painting and door knobs (which I hope Jason puts on tonight when he finishes our closets), we are going to go ahead and move tomorrow.  I’m pretty sure we’re nuts for doing it (especially since they are calling for massive snow tomorrow night), but we are ready to be in!!  Sooo, bring on the straight jackets!

I will post more pics post move.  Oh, and Happy Birthday, Jason!!

Project 4820, day 228.

02.26.09 — It’s getting close.  Really close.  The staircase is almost done, and once it’s finished, we can get our certificate of occupancy.

He should be done with it, however, there is still a good bit of touch up painting to be done.  Honestly, whether we more or not, it’ll be ok.  They both have pros and cons.  If we move, obviously that is good, cause we’ll be IN!!  No more rent!  Woot!!  If we don’t, we’ll be able to take our time and move stuff over slowly without killing ourselves.

They finished the mantle today:

Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!!  I should go finish packing!!

I’m floored

02.24.09 –  The floors have been stained and finished and we are now permitted to walk on them again.  I was soooo very hoping to be moving in on Saturday, but it’s looking dim.  There is still ALOT that needs to be done.  Jason says there is a chance, but I’m thinking he just said that to avert a meltdown.

I’m so very happy with how it’s coming together.

Floors aren’t quite that dark, though I wish they were.  We actually ended up going lighter than we planned in order to tie in the Mahogany door and Maple cabinets.

Dining Room:

Also got carpet laid this morning:

All decked out

02.20.09 –  I’ve been banned from the house all week, so I only have outside shots for you.  They have our deck finished, woo hoo!!

Here is one to mostly show the ‘view’, as the deck was still incomplete:

We will be allowed back in the house on Monday — and then the fun begins!!  Finish painting, hanging baseboards, finish fireplace and stairs, and get carpet laid.  And, of course, the real fun — cleaning and packing and MOVING!!

Project 4820, day 221.

02.16.09 –  My crazy life has caused for glitches in the blogomatrix.  Apologies.  The countertops are now officially installed and super gorgeous.  I am a self-proclaimed over-thinker/obsesser/doubter with a severe case of did-I-make-the-right-decisionitis, so I have gone back and forth over whether or not I love the countertops.  Today, I love them!

WARNING:  lots of pics –

Appliance garage under microwave cabinet:

Cooktop (please ignore missing drawer — have to shorten it to make room for gas line):

Close up:

I pretty much wanna marry my kitchen.

Funniest thing, my little next door neighbor comes over for a ‘tour’ (never been married – in her 60′s, very sweet lady) and she loves my kitchen, but rubs her hands over my granite and says, “oh, you have what I’ve got (she has a green marblish laminate) – that fake stone lookin stuff.”

Just a reminder that at the end of the day, it’s a countertop.   :)

Shower anyone?

02.13.09 — Sorry for the lag, it’s been a long week to say the least.  Two trips to Nashville and five days later and my countertops are in!  Plumbers finished the kitchen today, and then I forgot my camera.  Pics of the kitchen to come tomorrow (or whenever I get to it).

Also today, electrician came and installed more lights.  He only has a few things remaining on Monday and he will be done.  We have about 1/2 of a deck, all of our stair treads, and a fireplace mantle and hearth.  Our HVAC is nearly completed, we have all the faucets and showers installed, and we have TOILETS!!  Woot!!

Our master bath is complete, can’t wait to try it out:

My shower stool:

My shampoo nook:

Jason and the stair guy/carpenter extraordinaire built the hearth today and the trim on top of the potty room and shower in the master bath.  It’s getting close.  Two weeks from Sunday.  Eeeekkkk!!!
